CLASSIC MUFFINS RECIPE

As Salaamualaykum, dear readers, first things first I know you are probably wondering ‘’but this looks like a cupcake!’’ well apparently you are among the few percentages of people who think that way too. Muffins are another class of tasty pastries that are absolutely easy to make. I was amazed at the simplicity of this recipe after making it for the first time and I am sure you would too. Once you master the art of this classic muffins recipe I am about to share, you can, later on, build on it by adding different toppings/fillings of your choice like Zebib (Raisins) Strawberry, Blueberry, Cinnamon, Chocolate Chip and so on. So let’s get started.
INGREDIENTS
- Flour – 2cups
- Sugar – 3/4cup
- Salt – 1/2tsp
- Oil – ¼ cup
- Egg – 1
- Vanilla – 1tsp
- Milk – 1 cup
- Baking powder – 1tbsp
NB; Please remember to use a standard measuring cup and spoons for precision purpose.
PROCEDURE
- In a bowl sieve the flour, add the sugar, baking powder, salt and mix together.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg, add the oil, vanilla and milk.
- Pour the wet ingredients (in step 2) into the dry ingredients and mix together, but do not over mix.
- Grease the muffin pan (cupcake pan) and pour the muffin batter into it, place in the oven and bake till it’s done.
You know it’s done when you insert a toothpick into it and it comes out clean (with no bits of the muffin batter sticking to it).
